Recently I read a great book (actually the pre release manuscript) written by Garret John LoPorto. The book, called “The Wayseers,” is a manifesto for free-spirits, visionaries, misfits, rebels & pioneers. LoPorto’s premise is that those born with the DRD4 7R gene possess the gene that causes the brain’s reward system to override the prefrontal cortex ‘s repression mechanism. Once you get through the scientific and genetic mumbo jumbo, LoPorto’s premise is simple. Those with that gene are more creative, open to challenge and enjoy a propensity for genius level solving.
In short, they represent many of our heroes, entrepreneurs, pioneers, inspired artists and leaders. They also make great lawyers.
Much of our nation is made up of those without the DRD4 7R gene. Society needs those folks and they are every bit as important. One group is not “better” than the other. One group is great at solving problems and the other at implementing the solutions. For society to function at its highest level, you need both.
When you are in trouble, however, and run afoul of society’s rules or if you are victimized by fraud, the best help may be a creative lawyer. It may be a “wayseer.”
We are not geneticists at Mahany & Ertl, but we pride ourselves on thinking outside the box. When you need help and results and need them fast, come see us.
